Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information RVFitFinder collects when you use rvfitfinder.com, how it is used, and the choices you have. Last updated 2026-09-16.

Who we are

RVFitFinder ("we", "us") is an independent website operated by its owner (see About). For anything relating to this policy, contact us at hello@rvfitfinder.com or via the contact page.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you use the contact form we receive the name, email address, category, subject and message you enter. Submissions are processed by Netlify Forms (our hosting provider) and stored in our Netlify form inbox so that we can reply. We do not add you to any mailing list.

Rig details you enter into the fit tool. The RV length and type you enter to check campsite fit are processed in your browser to filter results. They are not linked to your identity.

Information collected automatically. Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — for security and operational purposes. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are read; it is a privacy-focused, cookie-free service that does not track you across sites and does not build user profiles.

Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)

RVFitFinder is free to use and is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

Visitors from the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent message before personalised ads are served; you can change your choice at any time using the link at the bottom of the page or by clearing your cookies.

How we use information

We use the information described above to run and secure the site, respond to messages you send us, understand which content is useful so we can improve it, and display advertising that keeps the site free. We do not sell your personal information.

Third-party services

The following third parties process data when you use the site, each under their own privacy policy: Netlify (hosting and contact form), Cloudflare (web analytics), Google (AdSense advertising) and, if you choose to support us, PayPal (donations — handled entirely on PayPal's site; we never see your payment details). Links to Recreation.gov, campground websites and social networks lead to sites we do not control.

Data retention

Contact-form messages are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and then deleted from our form inbox. Server logs are retained by Netlify according to its own retention schedule. Aggregated analytics contain no personal information and may be kept indefinitely.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK or the CCPA/CPRA in California) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal information we hold about you, to object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. In practice the only personal information we hold directly is what you sent through the contact form; email hello@rvfitfinder.com and we will act on your request promptly. For advertising cookies, use the opt-out links in the advertising section above or your browser's cookie controls.

Children

RVFitFinder is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version; material changes will be noted on this page.
